Debra Cassa is an award-winning graphic designer/art director with over tweleve years of experience in the field. Born in New York City and educated at the School of Visual Arts, she graduated with a BFA in 1998 and went on to design annual reports and corporate literature before moving to her current position at United Business Media. As Art Director, Debra is charged with upholding the standards of design and identity for many of the company’s most prominent brands. She is a versatile and seasoned designer, with expertise that spans across the arenas of print, web and events. During her ``-year tenure at UBM she has produced a substantial body of work that includes media kits, brochures, advertisements, logos, event graphics, e-newsletters, web pages, Flash animations and more. Her work has been honored in recent years by the NYC Business Marketing Association with a Silver ACE award, and by Graphic Design: USA with numerous American Graphic Design Awards.
An avid reader and lover of written words, Debra is also concerned with the way designers use their work to communicate ideas, and how design can enhance the audience’s experience of the message and vice versa. She believes designers have the capability to be involved in the creation of the content as well as its visual execution. She takes a keen interest in roles not traditionally delegated to the designer such as HTML production and writing headlines and light copy, and truly enjoys being involved with every project at every stage from conception to finished product.
Debra currently lives in Rego Park. When not designing you often can find her on a ski slope, on a bicycle, engrossed in the pages of a good book or in the kitchen.
